As far as red carpet events go, this sounds pretty cool.

Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are planning a Herculean stunt to promote next month’s Edge of Tomorrow. The actors will appear on three different red carpets, in the three different countries on the same day.

Taking the “resetting” theme of the film to a whole new level, on May 28, the pair – and the film’s director, Doug Liman – will hit a red carpet in London at 7 a.m. and then another in Paris at 2:00 p.m. The trio will then travel to New York City for the final screening at 11:59 p.m. Along the way, Cruise, Blunt and Liman will interact with fans via social media with the hashtag #EOTLive.

Like I said, pretty cool.

The Liman-directed sci-fi epic stars Cruise and Blunt as soldiers who are stuck in a futuristic time loop, repeating the same alien battle over and over. “I die within five minutes of landing on that beach along with every other soldier,” Cruise’s Lt. Col. Bill Cage says in a voice over. With each ‘death,’ Cage hopes to improve his odds of winning the fight and saving his life.

Adapted from Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s novel All You Need Is Kill – a title I much prefer by the way – the visuals and action from the new film look absolutely stellar. And I like the premise – even if it does harken back to that Bill Murray comedy.

Edge of Tomorrow hits theatres in 2D and 3D June 6.
